Another Feature For FileZ: Application List

Update 8/7/2007: This is such a little-known feature of the software that I decided to highlight it again. Once again, this software has helped me determine what is on my PDA. I had cause to check my PDA backup program this weekend, and realized that not everything was backing up onto my SD card. Filez helped me figure out what was on my PDA that needed to be added to the backup.

After making a concerted effort to try and find out what exactly is on my PDA, so I can do regular reviews of software, I made a discovery. First, my favorite application for doing a PDA inventory no longer works on my device. The application, called Applist, was straight-forward, did one thing and did it well. Alas, it hasn’t worked since I upgraded to the Zire 72. And no upgrades in sight.

So I was searching around for something else that would do the same thing.

I discovered that Filez (which I reviewed here) has an export list feature. So I selected the files I wanted, exported the list to Memo, and went from there. Much easier than trying to compile the list by hand!
