Great post. I totally agree-sad thing is people don't implement a plan until they have lost their hard drive. Then it is too late. Just wanted to add I have been using Mozy.com (free) for 3 years. All 3 computers in our house are automatically backed up to mozy individually nightly. I back up docs, music and photos. I can sleep knowing they are backed up. It gives a message if the backup is unsuccessful, and when the crash happens, you can access all your data from anywhere, since it is held in cyberspace somewhere. I also use an external hard drive to back up the photos monthly so I in essence have 2 backups. But, everyone needs to consider that ext. hard drives can go too. :( I already had it happen. I think I will ultimately go with 2 external hard drives, and the mozy.com. But, again-thanks for the reminder for backups-everyone really should have them in place before they need them. :)
