I know I am not the only one who struggles with this, because when I see people looking for information on their phone it seems like they are tapping all over the place as well.
My phone is cluttered. I’ll bet your phone is cluttered too.
And it’s hurting your productivity.

The holidays are over, and I find myself packing up the holiday decorations. After opening boxes that contained decorations we didn’t use (and haven’t used for some time), I started thinking about hidden clutter and how it takes up room…without our being aware of it.
Today I want to talk about how to find hidden clutter, and how to purge it.

School has started. And with it come the demands for labels.
I am very glad that manufacturers are willing to support the schools when parents purchase their products. And the best way to know their products are being purchased is when the parents send in labels or proofs of purchase.

I was interviewed recently and I was asked how I made blogging easier. My response was that for every day I had a theme: Mondays are productivity, Tuesdays Open Loops, etc.
After the interview I realized that I do that for many other areas of my life, and it really boosts my productivity. So I thought I would share how I apply this Day of the Week theme method.

Time for a confession. For all that I write about productivity and simplicity and organization, there are many times when I completely blow it. I write this blog as much for me as I do for you, and I would be only showing you half of the picture if I didn’t admit when I screw up. So this article is about a big fail, and what I did to get it back on track.
Our guest bedroom, which is rarely used for guests, has morphed into the place where I store all of my craft supplies and do sewing. I’ve been avoiding going in there recently, though, because it was so disorganized and cluttered that I was overwhelmed as soon as I walked in the door. It was time for a makeover.

My daughter, and to a certain extent myself, have a habit of not putting things away. After clearing piles of toys, papers, books and video games off the kitchen table so we could eat dinner, I watched my daughter dump everything into the living room. I decided it was time to give the hostage box a try.

Nearly every women’s or home magazine these days has articles about organizing. They show nice neat pictures of tidy drawers, closets, pantries, linen closets and more.
And the common thing among all these pictures is that like things are grouped together.
