A less well-known system, but one that is similar in many concepts to GTD (Getting Things Done) is the Flylady System. However, Flylady is not a what, but a who.

Flylady is a woman, who in her quest to keep her house clean and peaceful, has developed a system of no-nonsense practicality. By providing a flexible framework and a cheering section, delivered through email reminders, a website and a book ( Sink Reflections (aff)), she gives people the way to get out of clutter and into peace.

Flylady’s system may be about the home, but I find it helps me immeasurably when it comes to productivity. Most of her maxims can be taken out of the home and applied to other areas of life. For example, her insistence on getting rid of clutter applied to my filing system at work has given me the ability to find things when I need them, rather than spending hours searching. I have customized her routines to help me not get sidetracked when I need to get business done. (There will be greater detail on this in the future)
