How To Access Important Folders From The Taskbar

On my computer, I don’t like having to navigate through many levels of folders to get to what I need. However, if I store everything on my desktop, the desktop gets crowded and backups get to be tricky. This can be solved by putting folder access into your task bar.
One under-utilized feature of the Windows XP taskbar is the ability to show other toolbars. By right-clicking on the taskbar, you can see the built-in toolbars available to show on the taskbar. You can also add others.
Activating an Existing Toolbar
To activate an existing toolbar, right click on the taskbar, then select Toolbars from the pop-up menu. Choose any existing toolbar.
To deactivate, uncheck the toolbar.
Adding a New Toolbar
To add a new toolbar, right click on the Taskbar, then select Toolbars from the pop-up menu. Choose New Toolbar. Then navigate to the folder or internet address you wish to have in your toolbar.
Examples Of Toolbars
I have two additional toolbars on my taskbar: My Documents, and a link to the folders where I store all my batch programs for quickly setting up environments. Both of these get used daily.
With just a couple of clicks, you can put your most-used folders right on the taskbar.
