How To Store Jewelry – A Different Approach

After writing about decluttering jewelry, I realized that I have three rather unorthodox ways to store jewelry that might suggest other options to others:

The Necklace Holder

I store my costume jewelry and larger necklaces on a belt hanger in the closet. My jewelry box only has eight hooks for necklaces, and about 9 inches of length. I found that bulky necklaces don’t fit, and longer necklaces get tangled. I keep the necklaces on the belt holder within sight of my jewelry box and in with my clothes.

The Earring Frame

For most of my earrings, I found an oak picture frame inset with earring holders. I was not able to find the maker on Etsy, where I originally purchased it, but I found a similar earring rack. By keeping my most-worn earrings out in sight, I wear them more often.

The Earring Tackle Box

For my seasonal earrings, or ones that I do not wear that often for whatever reason, I purchased a plastic tackle box. I can put the earrings in, protect them and keep them together, yet be able to retrieve them quickly. I actually started doing this in college, when I had little jewelry, and I wanted something easy to access and store out of the way.

I hope that these jewelry solutions give you some ideas. Do you have any unusual ways to store jewelry?
