I was informed about IWantSandy through a reader comment How I Capture Random Thoughts on how I capture things. After implementing Jott based on another reader comment on the same article, I decided to look at IWantSandy.
IWantSandy.com is an online personal assistant. By sending emails to a personalized address with a few easy-to-remember codes, Sandy will keep track of things for you…and remind you.
Sandy integrates with Jott, and you can send a Jott to her directly. She will then translate it and remind you. You can also send from Jott’s interface directly to Sandy.
So far, I have used Sandy to get things from email and Jott all in one place. I can quickly forward an email and it will be placed in the to-do list. Having it there instead of buried in my email folders has so far shown itself to be useful in reminding me I have action to take.
I recently combined Sandy with my Google Calendar and CompanionLink software. Sandy publishes my “stuff” to Google via RSS, and CompanionLink pulls it into my PDA. What this allows me to do is automatically transcribe my voice reminders into PDA tasks for later processing, completely eliminating the step of manual processing of voice reminders. It works so well I turned off the voice recorder on my PDA.
