Keeping Your Eyes On Your Dreams

In the article, Nourish your dreams regularly with attention [via lifehack.org] good points are made about the importance of keeping your eyes on the long-term dreams stored in the Someday/Maybe lists.

Too often, I find that my important goals and somedays get lost in the day-to-day details. I agree that one of the best ways to maintain contact with those dreams is to regularly review them.

I take a look at my somedays monthly to review what is on the list; at the same time, if I know that I want to move forward on something specific or reconsider it at a certain date, I flag it to be reviewed during a weekly review. I can easily keep tabs on what I want to do, and arrange my priorities accordingly.

Update January 2008:
I am sad to say that I have gotten away from this. My Someday/Maybe list got so big it turned into a “Never” list as I grappled with the projects flinging in. I am in the process of setting goals that will lift me above the day to day humdrum activities and on toward bigger things.
