“Unclutterer » Archive » Is everything in your home in its best place?” talks about how mis-placing a trashcan can look good, but be a hindrance. A friend of mine recounts a story where her father located the trash in a closet to make things look nice and her mother responded by putting a can where it was useful. During a trash take-out, her father refused to empty the trash from the “unauthorized trash can.”
Tonight I moved my scanner, which was rarely used, off my desk. It freed up quite a bit of space on the desktop. This question is one I ask myself frequently, and I think it is at the heart of many simplification and productivity efforts. If something isn’t working well, then it needs to be re-thought.
” 10 Questions to Ask Yourself to Regain Your Work-Life Balance – Stepcase Lifehack” gives a list, but no answers to 10 important questions that can lead to fulfillment and balance. It’s worth a look.
When I first read “A One Bucket System: The Ultimate Productivity Heresy” I thought that it was an interesting take on things. I have to admit that contexts distract me, and give me excuses not to do things. Now I’m beta-testing a new management system that does lump everything into one bucket, and I’m amazed at how much I’ve gotten done.
“Personal Productivity in the 21st Century – Stepcase Lifehack” points out some things about new productivity and creativity.
