Tuesdays are open loop at SimpleProductivity blog.

Photo by kevindooleyProductivity 501 has an interesting article “Turkeys and Skunks“, talking about perceived value and snap judgments. Don’t tell the skunks, though.

At GetRichSlowly, “50 Tips for DIY Savings Around the House” included one I never thought of: close the closet doors to reduce the space you are heating.

And at the same blog, “Some Thoughts on the Return to Traditional Skills” made me take stock. I used to be a proponent of outsourcing. But the stint of non-employment brought me back into crafting. I began to make things for the house, including dishcloths, blankets, a quilt (still in progress) and doll clothes. I make my own bread. I try to cook more from scratch. I am starting to do more DIY stuff, using skills from my childhood. And I find that I enjoy my independence.

Stepcase Lifehack’s article, “The Daily Grind: A Matter of Momentum” has a great point: “The purpose of productivity is to give yourself more time, whatever you choose to do with it.“. It’s not about working more or less. I was also glad to see one of my favorite methods pointed out: I’m a great believer in getting ready the day before.
