Fridays are open loop days at SimpleProductivity blog.

- Out of sight, out of mind…get more done by keeping your goals visible. From Daytimer’s “Today’s Productivity Tip: Keep Your Goals Within Reach”
- I have always struggled with what to say to a grieving person. Pick the Brain lays it all out…and also contrasts what not to say. From “15 Things to Say (and NOT say) to a Grieving Person”
- “Most folks are as happy as they make up their minds to be” is what Lincoln said. It applies to work as well. Wisebread has some great ways to have a better day at “7 Ways to Have a Better Day at Work”. I also would add “get started right away”…because getting sidetracked with email gets you that much further from done
- Busyness can be just busyness…or it can be a form of running away. If you are overly busy, read this article and examine why. From Tiny Buddha’s “Be More by Doing Less: Removing the Distraction of Busyness”
- One of the ways to get through things quickly is to eliminate the amount of thinking you have to do about repetitive issues. Get-it-done Guy has a way to process folders using this technique. From “Get-It-Done Guy : Make Your Folders Do the Work”
- If you find yourself constantly pushing the boundaries beyond what is good for you, try treating yourself in the 3rd person. The Happiness Project talks about an application of this at “Why I Treat Myself Like a Toddler. A Cranky Toddler.”
- As a pie crust failure, I can tell you it’s not about the ingredients, it is about the technique. Margaret Finnegan has some good tips for pie crusts at “Finnegan Begin Again: Pie Hand”
- I found myself wondering if this could be incorporated with programs like Leechblock, or even different Windows logins to make this work. From Lifehacker’s “Set Rules for What You Can’t Do On Your Schedule to Keep Yourself Focused”
