Fridays are open loop days at SimpleProductivity blog.

- I have always found couponing objectionable because it takes too long for the benefit, and it seems so overwhelming. Lifehacker has a great article on how to get by those objections at “The Beginner’s Guide to Coupons”
- This seems like a good method to do as salad ahead of time…from Lifehacker’s “Prepare Salad in Advance Without Making It Soggy”
- Do you have too many hobbies? How about hobbies that you have supplies for but don’t do? The Simple Dollar has an article about it at “Streamlining Your Hobbies, Streamlining Your Money”
- This is a great way to get lots of free books all at once. Gutenberg has Dropbox support! From “Project Gutenberg Adds Dropbox Support, Perfect for Syncing to All Your Devices”
- I love my bread maker and use it at least once a week during the winter. After my last one died after it lept off the counter, I got a minimal featured one from my mother. I am thinking about a new one, though…I like the bigger loaf size and timers. Wisebread has an article with the five best at “The 5 Best Bread Machines”
- Yes, I can see making my own salad dressings, dips and salsa at home. But BACON?! Wisebread shares at “13 Foods You Should Make Yourself”
- Hmm…I have to agree. I am over over-the-top stuff… From Fast Company’s “Why You Should Stop Wasting Time On Absurd Motivational Articles”
- I love this article about how a writer looked at motivations and came up with a way to do more. From Fast Company’s “My Most Embarrassing (And Effective) Productivity Technique”
- This is very true…”you can’t argue with someone who won’t argue back.” It is difficult to do, but if you can, there are things to be learned. From Stepcase Lifehack’s “How to End Any Argument Immediately”
- We cut cable last year, and the adults in the household haven’t missed it. Here are ways to do this and not miss shows. From Stepcase Lifehack’s “Eliminate Your Cable Bill and Watch Everything Online for Free”
- These stories of all different types of love really gave me a boost on a difficult weekend. From Marc and Angel’s “60 Short Love Stories to Cheer You Up”
- This is a great way to get a picture of where you are in your goals. From Positivity Bog’s “How to Find Clarity and Live More Consciously by Doing Weekly 5-Minute Reviews”
- I suffer from perfectionism. It pops out at the most inopportune times. This little article gives some way to deal with it. From Tiny Buddha’s “3 Tips to Escape the Perfectionism Trap and Feel Good Enough”

Thank you for this great list, LJ. I particularly like the article on hobbies. I find it really helpful, especially since there are times when certain hobbies that have long been dormant suddenly sprout up once again, tempting you to engage in it due to a random idea. Knowing the hobbies of focus keeps me in check. If that particular hobby isn’t important and will cost too much, then it’s not worth taking up once again.
None of my hobbies is particularly expensive, but when you add up the money I have sunk into my yarn stash for future projects…yikes!
