We Are The Biggest Problem with Productivity

Over at The Cranking Widgets Blog, “Productivity Systems Don’t Suck, But Sometimes I Do” it is noted

how our personal productivity systems are nothing more than a means to an end.

Productivity is not about being productive for productivity’s sake. There is no one answer that will fit every person, and if you don’t know why you want to be more productive, I believe you shouldn’t venture down the path. My personal reason for trying to achieve peak productivity is very simple: I want to be as productive as I can so I don’t have to spend an ounce more of energy on something that I must do, and so I have more free time to spend on stuff that matters to me. Remember:

the system is not what ultimately breaks down. I do.

Maybe instead of productivity we should be looking at efficiency and effectiveness?

Working Better on Your Computer

Speaking of productivity and using your computer more efficiently, there was an excellent article over at Dumb Little Man called “7 Tips To Work Productively On Your Windows Computer“. These tips are solid.

Productivity Karma

I love the take on ” Productivity Karma” over at Stepcase Lifehack. A funny reminder of not taking productivity to offensive levels, or it will come back to haunt you.
