PDA Web Browser
Posted on March 12, 2008 by LJ

I recently decided it would be a good idea to get my WiFi card working. With that done, I realized I had no applications installed that could use it. I started to look for a PDA web browser.
The three free browsers I was able to find were Opera, WebPro and Eudora. With each of these, I attempted to install them. Here are my results:
Eudora
Pros
Back in the day, Eudora Internet Suite was the bomb. It was lightweight, easy to install, and contained both an email and web application. It is free.
Cons
EIS is no longer supported by Qualcom. The web browser is hard to use, and doesn’t work well with modern sites like Google.
Opera
Pros
Opera is a well-known browser, and is known for its stability.
Cons
I couldn’t install Opera, because an essential part of it is not included with the install, and Palm is no longer allowed to distribute the piece of software (this ended in January 2008).
WebPro
Pros
WebPro came with my PDA and was fairly easy to install. It works well with sites like Google.
Cons
WebPro is very memory intensive, and its navigation system is clunky.
Others?
I would love to know if anyone has any recommendations. While I stuck with WebPro because it was the only one that worked reasonably well, I really dislike it. Any suggestions?
