The Extra Perks of Productivity

Mondays are productivity days at SimpleProductivity blog.

Photo by scubadive67My project list is currently minimized. Other than the tasks I need to perform around home, there are two other projects: one craft project, and finishing my NaNoWriMo ’08 book. It took some effort to get to this point, but it is having unexpected benefits.

Without the baggage of the things I “should” be doing, I am free to enjoy my life.

Before the clearance, I would get home from work, get my daughter off the bus, and get busy in a flurry of activity.

Now I have time to sit down with her, go over school work, and enjoy the afternoon. In fact, it is so relaxed that we often have time to do crafts together, or make cookies.

The amount of time is the same. The only thing changed is how much is on my “I-need-to-get-to-this-now” list.

Take a look at your project list right now. Does it really all have to be done?

Or would you trade a few of them for the freedom to make cookies with your children?
