Review: aoCtrlDA Desk Accessory (Auto Off)

Summary

Desk Accessories, are useful bits of code that allow me to quickly do something with few keystrokes. Most of these software bits are no longer widely available, due to progress in the Palm interface, but I still find some of them extremely helpful.

AOCtrlDA, is a Desk Accessory that allows you to quickly adjust the auto-off time.

Why Did I Download/Buy This?

When looking through the lists of Desk Accessories I had (http://stdk.de/da/links.html and http://www001.upp.so-net.ne.jp/h-yama/da/), I found this one. I really liked the idea of being able to adjust the auto-off time quickly. I normally keep my auto-off time short, but for some programs, like Sudoku, I need a longer auto-off time. This application allows me to quickly set it, plus choose some times that are not available in the standard list.

How Do I Use This?

If I am working with a Palm program and it keeps turning off, I can quickly adjust the auto-off time to a longer value. Also, if I see that my battery is draining too quickly and I don’t have a quick charging source, I can adjust the time to a shorter value.
