Why Did I Download/Buy This?
Before getting my Zire 72, I was always locking up my devices. I could reset them using a paperclip (or in the case of the Handspring Visors, the reset tool included with the stylus), but sometimes I didn’t have these tools available to me. And trust me, other things, such as earring posts, tweezers, screwdrivers, and push pins won’t work. The worst case scenario was when the thing would crash during an automatic and unobserved action, and the batteries would drain out because of the locked screen. This application automatically detects crashes and resets the device. That simple. No fuss.
The only caveat is that you have to use a Hack application to run it. I used XMaster, which was free and did a good job.
(This is not to say that I don’t lock up my 72; I do, but the Hack won’t work on the 72, and the reset button on the 72 is such that it can be activated with a pen…or an earring post, tweezer, screwdriver or push pin.)
How Do I Use This?
A system that is not reliable is not to be trusted, and this application gave me one more way to feel secure about not losing batteries and consequently all my information.
