Summary

Documents To Go, by Data Viz, is a way to get Microsoft Office documents on your Palm.

Overview

Manufacturer: Data Viz
Platform: Palm and Windows
Current Version: Palm: 3.005

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Excellent feature set
  • Easy to sync documents

Cons

  • Rather expensive
  • Impractical for what I do with spreadsheets

Why Did I Download/Buy This?

I actually bought this application so that I could track things in spreadsheets like I did on my PC. I wanted the flexibility of having the original documents with me at all times. However, I found that I didn’t use it much, and other applications were more practical. Yes, it was nice to have my vacation spreadsheet with me all the time, but at the same time I was unable to use the formulas in the spreadsheet the way I wanted to. Yes, it was nice to have Word with me, but I found I could do more in plain text when I needed to. I uninstalled the application about a week after I installed it, and have never considered using it since.

However, if you are someone who needs to access Word and Excel documents on your Palm, this is the software to do it.

How Do I Use This?

I don’t use this anymore. I find it too impractical. I’m seldom away from a computer long enough that I would need this application.
