Summary

Filez, by nosleep software, is a file utility. It gives access to the files and the attributes, along with system information. It allows you to copy and move files between memory and SD cards, and remove files that may be left behind after uninstalls.

Overview

Manufacturer: NoSleep Software
Platform: Palm
Current Version: Palm: 6.8.3

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Easy to use
  • Allows me to copy files between the standard memory and SD card
  • Allows me to organize files on the SD card
  • Allows me to set databases as applications (i.e. create shortcuts)
  • Gives information about Palm internal like battery, space and syncing

Cons

  • No safety net built in

Why Did I Download/Buy This?

The first use I had for this program was to restore the original Graffiti back to the PDA. I am left-handed and cannot make the K’s and T’s in Graffiti 2. Since then, I have used this to move files from memory to card, and back again. I use this with little-used data files and programs. I have also used this with data files that I wanted to turn into Shortcuts – making them accessible from the icon screen.

How I Use This?

This application allowed me to put some of my most used databases as icons so I could launch them quickly. I particularly used this for making icons out of my cleaning lists, so I could go to them with one click rather than having to navigate through the program and open them up.

Update 6/13/2007

I still use this program to help copy things around, but I don’t use the databases as icons anymore. It got too confusing.
