Why Did I Download/Buy This?
I was heading into a performance with an unusual ensemble, and we had a piece that if we didn’t set the right starting tempo, one of us would be in trouble later on in the piece. I didn’t want to be messing around with a standard metronome on stage; I wanted something discrete and visual. Metronome answered the call perfectly.
How Do I Use This?
Before the performance, I set up the four tempos/beats into the metronome and saved them as presets. At the beginning of each movement, I turned the PDA on at my feet, selected the preset and started the metronome. Both of my fellow performers were able to see the visual beat and we were able to get on our way.
Also, I have found that having a portable metronome around has helped during singing practice. If we are polishing a piece, I always check the tempo to make sure we are not zipping through too quickly, as well as not dragging the piece down.
