Summary

TextPlus, by Smart Cell Technology, is a great text-completion tool to speed up handwriting tasks on a PDA..

Current Version: Palm: 5.8

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Easy to use; the words pop up as you write
  • Can customize what applications use this program
  • Easy to add words to the custom dictionary.

Cons

  • With some applications, the popup gets in the way of legitimate text entry

Why Did I Download/Buy This?

Back in the fall of 2006, I was contemplating writing a novel for NaNoWriMo. I knew I would have to make use of every spare moment, but didn’t want to be lugging my laptop around everywhere. So I purchased this program so I could hand-write the novel into my PDA.

How Do I Use This?

I used this in a limited fashion for the first novel, but I find that I use it quite a bit for taking notes on the run. The pop up menus make Graffiti more usable, and I am able to enter information in much more quickly.
