Why Did I Download/Buy This?

When I first started using PDA’s, I wanted a place to keep all my passwords. I had never written them down before, but the multitude of sites, usernames and passwords were getting out of hand. YAPS was free, and worked well. It also had the desktop component, which at the time was not available in other packages.

I have continued to use this product because it is solid, reliable, and has seamlessly migrated between devices and operating system upgrades (both PDA and PC).

How Do I Use This?

I use this application to track all usernames and passwords. It is particularly handy where there is a username for a site, but they also require an email address. It has made disabling email addresses very easy, since I can go through YAPS and figure out what accounts I need to change.

I also use the application to track equipment settings. For example, I keep the model numbers of my printer, along with the cartridge refill numbers, under an Equipment category.

Every time I make or change an entry into YAPS, I record when I made the entry. That way I can go out and disable accounts that have been in there for years but that I haven’t used.
