I’ve decided that from time to time I’ll make a Saturday post and let you know about what I am reading, what I am studying, and things that are interesting me.
New At The Blog
I finally set up an AWeber mailing list. I’ve had some problems with Feedburner, so I wanted to go with a solution for my readers that was a bit more reliable. The current list will give you one email a week with all the posts for the previous week in one place. Currently, if you sign up to AWeber, you will also receive a set of winter-themed note pages that I designed (and use myself!) You can sign up here.
What I’m Reading
I’ve been taking some time and reading fiction recently. I love my Kindle, and the recent addition of Kindle books to my local library has been wonderful.
I just finished reading The Eyre Affair: A Thursday Next Novel (Thursday Next Novels (Penguin Books)), which was a mystery with some decidedly odd turns. Things are just different enough in Thursday Next’s world that I had to pay attention and think. It was a nice change from the brain candy I have been reading.
I’m also in the middle of The Information Diet: A Case for Conscious Consumption, which I have read about on various blogs. It’s interesting enough that I think this one will become a book review.
Next up: Pronoia Is the Antidote for Paranoia, Revised and Expanded: How the Whole World Is Conspiring to Shower You with Blessings. A person I respect greatly recommended this book, and I bought it, even though it isn’t in Kindle edition. Word of warning: this book is large, height, width and depth!
Courses I’m Working On
After spending time going through all the AWeber courses, I was pleased to leave that behind and start the Life Is Messy Bootcamp. I love Mayi, she is so much fun, and through the email correspondences I have had with her, very friendly (this also comes across on her videos). In addition to the coursework, she has expanded her Life Is Messy planning forms to include ones for those of us who are trying to grow a dream!
Other Things To Note
A few more things have come across my email recently.
Darren Rowse and the staff at Problogger launched a new ebook, aimed at blogging productivity. It’s a series of interviews with some high-powered bloggers who also have lives. More information can be found at “Blog Wise: How to Do More with Less”.
Goddess Leonie Dawson is starting a round of the Creating A Goddess Haven ecourse on March 1. I took this course a few years ago, and made major strides in clearing out a lot of junk and dirt. It would be better to take it at this time of year, for those of us who live in the northern hemisphere. When I took it we were told to go out and tidy up the yard, and it was near freezing. So I think a spring course would be better.
I hope you all have a pleasant and wonderful weekend!
