Today I’m taking the day off.
My employer has a policy that if we work extra time, we can take a day off every two weeks. Today is my day.
I have purposefully not scheduled anything. I will be sleeping in as this post goes out, and I have made no plans. My task list will remain undone (except for the call to find out if I have to report for jury duty on Monday).
The point of this purposeful idleness is to give myself the time to stop and breathe. The time to dream. The time to be instead of do.
Music is found in the notes and the silence between the notes. There is a reason the spaces between the notes are called “rests”.
Think about it.
