“You, maggot! You’ve got 10 minutes before you have to leave for that meeting. Don’t just sit there! Get something done! Move it! Move it! Move it!”
Does that sound familiar? The shouting of the inner drill sergeant can drown out everything pleasant, turning life into a forced march through your to-do list and calendar.
Fire the drill instructor. You’re allowed.
Life is more than a frantic flurry of tasks.
Music would be very hard to listen to if it weren’t for the pauses of silence in between the notes of music.
So should your life be. You should have regular pauses so that the music of life can be heard.
Don’t let it be drowned by the shouting of someone who would run you into the ground.
