There is a downside to having a clean desk. If the inbox is empty, something will fill it:
Note from 2011: I was going through the archives and laughed loudly when I saw this. I thought I would share it with your for a bit of light-heartedness. No, I did not place the cat there. She sat there on her own, as she did many other times, until I got rid of the in-basket. She is one of the reasons I got rid of the in-basket. You see, she is not a particularly happy tempered cat, so every attempt to put something in the basket while she sat there was met by a hiss. This is also the reason I use an exercise ball as a chair. A cat cannot sit on a ball.
